Demonstration with Martinho Correia
In this video, Canadian realist painter, Martinho Correia demonstrates drawing a plaster cast block-in, via the Sight-Size approach to measuring, from life. A brief history of Sight-Size is presented as well as the basic tools and setup that is needed to carry out Sight-Size in a studio. Martinho thoroughly explains each stage of the block-in process, from establishing a plumb line and locating extremities on the drawing paper, to identifying anchor points for measurements, mark making and articulating the features of the cast.
